My love of painting is perfectly expressed in monotypes. Each monotype shows radical individuality, being an image that transfers to paper one time by use of my etching press. The monotype image is created when paint is applied to a thin plexiglass plate, then transferred to paper using a manual etching press. The press passes the plate through two rollers, which forces the pigment into the fibers of the paper using calibrated, even pressure. -- Barbara Marcus McKenna
